This year, which marks Grayshott Stagers' 75th anniversary, our annual evenings of one-act plays will take place on Friday 13th and Saturday 14th February at Grayshott Village Hall. The Box Office is now open!
As usual, tickets include a home-cooked 3-course supper. A vegetarian option is available when booking. We've selected two comedies, both with a touch of the supernatural.
Fate’s Thread by Stephen Bean is a murder mystery as well as a comedy. Susan Davies is a successful executive married to Jack the local garage mechanic. After Susan has a fatal car crash, her ghost is greeted by two opinionated spirits: Alice (burned as a witch in the 17th century) and Harriet (stabbed to death in the 1800s), who won't accept that the car crash was just an accident. In the end, it's a race against time to save a soul!
Don't Blame It On The Boots by Nick Warburton was performed at our very first evening of one-act plays in 1997. A production of “Hamlet" opens in a few days and rehearsals are not going well. Eric, who plays the ghost of Hamlet’s father, can’t see why he has to wear the boots of a former famous actor. And he can't disguise his designs on the rather naïve actress playing Ophelia, much to the disgust of his fiancée. The scene is set for a hilarious comedy, with a surprising outcome.
Plus, in recognition of this special anniversary, we'll be performing a musical medley, Encore! 75 Years of Grayshott Musicals. Composed for the occasion by Jeremy Legat, it includes songs from every decade of Stagers’ musical performances.
Tickets are only £20. For the Box Office, and for more information on this and other forthcoming productions, visit www.thegrayshottstagers.co.uk, or call 01428 606264 in case of queries.
